Discover Fidlock’s extremely secure way of strapping armor or fabric pieces without hassle: a magnet pulls the two halves together so they find each other on their own. Then a catch locks them in place. This way the part you’ve attached doesn’t move until you slide it open. Great for shoulder armor, removable panels, capes, belts and anywhere you want a clean closure that actually holds all day.
Good to know before you order
It might seem complex at first, but it's actually very simple.
For hand-sewing it's advised to pre-pierce a few holes first. Stitch straight through the wide nylon rim. It looks solid but it's thin nylon, so a needle goes through.
Treat it like sewing in a zipper. A zipper foot helps a lot. Stitch length 2–3 mm. Place your start/end lock stitches next to the part, not on top of it, or you'll weaken the hold. The snaps are magnetic, so they might grab the needle plate. Go slow and steady.
The flat back means you can also just glue the sewable parts down, if that's easier for your build.
Screws straight into fabric, leather, strapping bands such as nylon, worbla, etc. No glue, no sewing. IMPORTANT: 5mm (or thicker) EVA foam won't fit. The sewable version is recommended for pure foam.
Mark your spot and pre-punch or drill a hole in your material.
Unscrew the ring from the head so you can see the thread.
Push the snap through the hole from the front of your material.
Screw the ring back on from the back to clamp it tight. Done.
